Äntligen hemma

Hemma i Sverige och strömstad igen och det känns skönt. Jag fick ju köpa nya flygbiljetter eftersom jag var kvar i turneringen men jag åkte ut den första dagen av de som var kvar. Det tiltade mig hårt och jag kunde låta bli att bli så besviken. Jag söp ner mig hårt och tyckte synd om mig själv men nu är det glömt. Jag kommer forsätta med min semester här hemma i minst en månad till. Förmodligen kommer jag inte spela en hand poker förrän i september. Planen är ju att vi skall segla till stockholm och det brukar bli ett äventyr. Får se om vi kommer fram eller sjunker på vägen.
Det kommer bli glest med blogginlägg under seglingen. Ännu mer glest än vad det redan är. Inspirationen finns inte just nu vare sig det gäller blogg eller poker och jag hoppas att en månads långsegling kommer kurera det. Det brukar göra gott.
Jag skall beställa mig en pilbåge. Pilbågsjakt har blivit tillåtet i Sverige men det är hårda krav på att få utöva jakt. Man måste inte bara ha jägarexamen utan också en speciell examen för bågjakt. Tänk att smyga sig på ett rådjur eller bara en hare med sin båge och sikta in sig. Svetten rinner i pannan och svider ner i ögat men du kan inte blinka för då kanske du tappar siktet. Till sist står det intet ont anande djuret stilla och böjer sig ner för att äta de äpplen som du med ett djävulskt flin lagt dit. Swoosh! Som en indian får du kanske springa efter det och avsluta lidanet med en kniv mellan tänderna. Hamarai!
Drömma kan man alltid, ciao så länge.
Bust

Day three threw me out but it had to really fight to bust me. I ran really really bad with my aces, kings and queens. I could not win a pot post flop and everything I did had the wrong timing somehow. I tried to stay calm but after being two-outed with A-K against A-10 on a K-10-9 board it kind of got me in the end. Funny thing is that I played really good all day long, I made good calls and good laydowns. I played better poker poker today then I did the other days and the worst thing I did was to semi-bluff all-in with an open-ended str-drw on the turn. But the results were reversed and that is nonetheless but poker. You hate it and you love it depending on how you are doing, sigh.
Thats all for now, I have been drinking a little bit too much maybe but who can judge me?
Through to day 3

I got through day 2 and managed to accumulate a stack of 218 600 which I have to be satisfied with. However I am not happy with how I play and I am still working on it. Maybe I will tune in the right frequency for day 3. I sure hope so.
The structure in this years WSOP main event is the best ever and it is about time! I think that average is following close to 100 big blinds, which leaves room for alot of creative plays. I hope that other tournaments like the EPT circuit will follow.
Apart from playing I have been catching almost all the shows there are here in vegas. I cant get enough and by now I have seen mystere four times, Le reve twice, “O” thrice, and KA, Zumanity, blueman group, Penn and Teller, Phantom of the opera, Terry Fator, Beatles Love, Spamalot, David Copperfield.
Also restaurants is a favorit pleasure and tonight we are going to Joel Robuchon, which is Las Vegas only 3-star michelin. I have been there once before last year and the food is heavenly (or some other suitable english adjective for some thing really, really good).
Thinking of language barriers… I dont like blogging in english but thats life sometimes. Over and out.

So I am through in the main event and I have just over average with 42 500 chips. I am okay with the first day even though I am not overly happy with it. I should have just played tight the whole day but as usual my fingers started itching and I could not help myself from spewing off chips every now and then, but I got through the first day and that is what really matters is it not?
I played an interesting pot when I raised 10-7 of diamonds and got a call from the guy (CO+2) directly to my left. I had about 20k to start then hand and the flop came 7-6-2 with two clubs. I bet 1600, got raised to 5000 and called. Turn came a king of spades, I checked and he checked behind rather quick. River came the king of clubs making three clubs on the board. I checked and he bet 10k. I thought for a long while and somehow I ended up calling. Some of the other hands he played earlier showed a different pattern with good hands and something didnt feel right about how he played the hand. That is my excuse for calling. It was a tough call to make and he showed pocket threes.

Just relaxing

At the moment we are just realxing here in Las Vegas and simply enjoying life. Alot of friends have arrived but we have been kind of boring and not gone out with them to party. They party alot so I hope and think we will get another chance there. We have been training at the gym a few days and once you have gotten a few days in its always fun to see how long it lasts, hence the lack of party. I will of course party at Ladbrokes welcome party at the Vodoo-lounge at the Rio on monday so its only two days until the alcohol once again releases me from my shackles. Homer Simpson said something along the lines of “Alcohol is the cause and solution of all life problems”.
There is some exiting news that I will tell you about next time!

My first tournament, the 10k PL holdem event, became a quick exit when I decided to go all-in with a flushdraw and a gutter against a set of sevens. I was kind of unlucky even though it may not appear that way. I am disappointed as I really had the perfect conditions to do well in the tournament, especially since our table was shorthanded due to late players. How ever, I do not regret any play I made. Enough said.
Now Im just gonna try reload for the main event and a good recipe for that is to have fun. I am pretty good at having fun so I am sure I will be on top after a day or two.
When in Vegas

We got to Las Vegas yesterday and it is really good to finally be here. I think I have a love/hate affair with the city of sins but i will only expand a bit on the love as the city has everything you could ask for; world class entertainment, world class restaurants and of course the world series of poker!
The shows and the restuarants is half the reason of why I go to Vegas every year and I would probably not come here if it werent for those. All lot of my friends have never been to the Cirque de Soleil shows even though they have been here like 3-5 times. I find that a bit disgusting and its a much bigger offence than not going to a strip club when in Vegas. Imagine that!? Going to Vegas and not visit a strip club!?
Well now you know how a feel about that. If you are in Vegas or are planning to go there please, for the love of god, visit at least one of these shows. Preferably “O”, “Le Reve” and “Mystere” in that order.
As I said we arrived in Vegas yesterday and we are planning to stay here a little bit more than a fortnight depending on how long I can make it in the big one (the main event). Today we woke up pretty early for once, I blame it on jetlag, and we took a stroll in the heat to Rio to register for the a couple of events. The first one is starting tomorrow and I really look forward to the 10k$ PL holdem event. It is a tournament that will suit me good. After that we visited the SPA here at Ceasars Palace for some relaxation and a massage. I have to say that they have a top notch SPA here. Also the room is great and so is the service. I have to say that Ladbrokes has done a good job once again:) and to be honest I think its hard to find any other site that takes care of their players like that.
For tonight Im just gonna take it easy and go to bed early. Who knows, maybe I will hit the gym tomorrow before the tournament starts?
I will try to update as much as possible when I am here and I will let you now how it goes in the tournament.
Nedräkning

Har varit riktigt slö i de senaste veckorna och inte gjort något riktigt eller viktigt överhuvudtaget. Två utgångar har man hunnit med men de räknas knappt.
Dagarna fram till vegas känns som en dimma. Speciellt nu när regnet öser ner utanför och det faktiskt är dimma. När man var liten så störde inte regn särskilt mycket. Tvärtom så tyckte man det var roligt att splasha i vattenpölarna och göra de stackars dagisfröknarna förtvivlade. Det var tider det, men nu så är det trist när det regnar. Dock är det som ett dubbeleggat svärd för samtidigt som det är trist så kan det vara skönt att det regnar, men det har inget att göra med den oförtrutna glädje man kände som barn utan det kan vara skönt just för att man slipper hitta på något. En ursäkt för att vara inne och sitta med datan i sitt knä. Men så blir rastlösheten övermäktig och man börjar fundera på meningen med livet och allt sånt skräp. Man är fan aldrig nöjd. Det är en förbannelse och en välsignelse på samma gång om ni missförstår mig rätt.
Läste om ett intressant experiment som gick ut på att ett antal barn fick en godis i handen och om de inte åt godisen direkt så skulle de få en till om 20 minuter. De barn som klarade vänta 20 minuter på en till godis klarade sig sedan bättre i livet och blev mer framgångsrika än de som inte hade tålamod. Säger en del va:)?
Jag har ju flyttat ut till landet och jag fortsätter att fälla ett och annat träd med yxan. det känns så hederligt på något sätt. För några dagar sen fällde jag det största hittills. När jag tänker på redwoodträden i USA så vattnas munnen he he:).
Pokermässigt så händer det inte så mycket utan jag räknar ner till vegas som sagt.

VECKANS BET Ziigmund och “durrrr” bestämde sig för att höja insatserna lite, till 3 000/9 000 dollar i blinds. Det slutade med att finnen vann tidernas näst största pott: 702 000 dollar. Vad ska man säga?
VECKANS RAISE Snacka om turneringsfacit. Las Vegas-bon Thang Luu, skrev pokerhistoria när han vann WSOP-event 3, 1 500 dollar. Omaha Hi/Lo. I förra årets WSOP vann han nämligen samma event! 2007 kom han tvåa i 2 000 dollar Omaha Hi/Lo.
VECKANS FOLD De sjuka spelen som pågår just nu är värda att titta på för de kommer troligtvis inte att pågå för evigt. Det är i mina ögon lite av ett mirakel att de fortfarande pågår. Jag spår att de kommer vara döda innan året är slut, så njut så länge de varar.

Jag har precis flyttat ut till landet med min vackra flicka. Flytten skedde från min lilla hemstad strömstad där jag huserat det sista halvåret så steget var inte så stort som man kan tro. Nu kommer jag hålla till på landet dagarna fram till Las Vegas som är 21 juni till 10 juli (såvida man inte skulle gå och vinna lotteriet). Efter Vegas så är planen att göra en långsegling från strömstad till stockholm och om fru fortuna ler mot mig som hon brukar göra så hittar jag en superfin lägenhet när jag går i land i stockholm. Om så blir fallet så kommer jag nog inte tillbaka till strömstad på ett tag framöver utan kommer tillbringa återstoden av mina bästa år i stockholm. Men vem vet? Det är svårt att förutse vad vädret blir om en vecka och något så komplicerat som ett liv är ännu svårare att förutse.
I korta drag så är planen/framtiden: landet, vegas, segling och sen stockholm.
